Admissions Information 2009-2010
Applications 1. Applications are available online beginning September 10 or will be mailed in mid-September.
2. Applications will be accepted by mail beginning November 3, 2008.
Applications received after the deadlines will be processed if interview spaces become available.
3. Requests for exception to the age requirements must be submitted in writing to the Director for consideration by the Admissions Committee.
4. A complete application includes the completed applicant questionnaire, a copy of the birth certificate (state-issued or legal equivalent) and the application fee. If the applicant attended school prior to St. Clement’s School, a Teacher Reference Report from the previous teacher is required. Admissions will not process incomplete applications.
Fees 1. The application fee is $50.00.
2. In the event St. Clement’s School is unable to schedule an interview, the application fee will be refunded. If the applicant cancels the interview, the fee is forfeited.
Interviews All Preschool applicants who meet the December deadlines are interviewed in January or early February. Personal interviews are conducted for all grade levels. Preschool 4 and Kindergarten applicants are also observed in small group activities. An interview team evaluates the applicant’s developmental readiness demonstrated during the observation periods. This includes social-emotional behavior, verbal ability, comprehension, and cooperation.
Acceptance Applicants who appear to be developmentally ready participate in the random drawing to fill available spaces determined by student-teacher ratio and gender balance. After the initial drawing, others who were deemed developmentally ready may be placed in a wait pool. Replacements from the wait pool may be made at any time prior to the first day of school.
Priority Status Priority status becomes effective only after interviews are completed and the applicant is deemed developmentally ready. Priority is accorded to:

Program/Curriculum 1. Curriculum information is available in the school office.
2. Tours are scheduled by appointment during the months of October through March.
Meals The school provides the morning and afternoon snack and beverage. Students may bring home lunch or purchase catered lunch for an additional fee.
Chapel Services St. Clement’s is an Episcopal School. The students attend chapel services three times a week. The Rector of the Parish serves as the school chaplain.
Teacher-Pupil Ratio The ratio is 1:10. Each classroom has a teacher and an assistant teacher. Other staff are a music teacher, individualized learning program teacher, and physical education teacher.
Tuition School begins at 8:00 a.m. School year 2008-2009 tuition: 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.: $7,190.00/yr 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.: $9,390.00/yr Months in operation: September – May Vacation: Two weeks winter recess and one week spring recess.
Summer Session Summer Session is a six-week program. Spaces are offered first to registered students, and then to interviewed ‘wait list’ applicants if spaces are available. School begins at 8:00 a.m. Summer Session 2008 Tuition: 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: $700 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.: $1,000
General Information 1. St. Clement’s School accepts children without regard to race, color, religion or national origin. It is St. Clement’s School policy to operate within the State and Federal law to follow the Americans with Disabilities Act law and accept children with disabilities within reasonable boundaries by considering whether acceptance would result in undue hardship to the school.
2. Applicants are interviewed in winter, and letters of notification of placement are mailed in spring. The acceptance deposit is required to hold the space for enrollment
3. Financial aid may be requested by submitting a completed application form that will be reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee. The submission of proof of income or other pertinent documentation is required. Applications must be requested at the time of registration.
4. All registered students are required to provide a current Health Form 14 and be toilet trained at the time of school entry.
